In the first game of the 2010 spring season the NCFC dominated. While several full time members had other pressing busness (travel, broken toes, "having fun", watching B-Ball) the devoted trounced the opponents by a score of 7 - 0. Socring was early and often. Scoring leader was Laim with his first hat trick. Adding to the fun was Jereon with 2, Ellen, and Bruce.
The defense, while rarely challenge, held strong when the were. Both Mike and Bruce held strong in goal while the back line turned away any real challenge.
The season is only going to get more difficult. Hopefully the team will continue in this winning manner.

Winter 2010
The schedule is up on the Team Cowboy site. Here is the summary:
1/10 - 4:30pm Perigo Park (Eastside) vs Nuns and Monkeys
1/17 - 1:15pm Lower Woodland vs Supernova
1/23 - 11:15am Lower Woodland vs Hot Wings (Sat game)
1/31 - 11:15am Sealth Stadium vs Blue Fish
2/7 - 9:30am Interbay Stadium vs Salvation Fuzz
2/14 - 1:00pm Perigo Park (Eastside) vs Nuns and Monkeys
2/21 - 5:00pm Shoreline B vs Supernova
2/27 - 1:00pm Upper Genesse vs Hot Wings (Sat Game)
3/7 - 9:30am Lower Woodland vs Blue Fish
3/14 - 6:15pm Upper Genesse vs Salvation Fuzz
A lot of teams are red this season (4 out of 6). That means there are a lot of games where we'll need to bring white.
There are a few folks that still have to pay. Looks like we might need a lady for the winter but we'll have to see if Jen has healed up over the holidays.
Happy Holidays and I'll see you on the pitch.

Dilemma this Sunday
This Sunday our game starts an hour before the Sounders game. The dilemma for most of us will be to play or not. I say play!! They have methods to record the game and watch it later. I would volunteer my place as a viewing location but we are remodeling our bathroom and the place is a danger zone. If anyone is willing to offer their place as a viewing location for post game watching that would be great. Otherwise, record it on your own and watch it after a Naked City victory!!
That said, please RSVP as soon as you can so we can get subs if needed.
As for the game this week, I want to thanks those who played for not being like the other team. They took the fun of the game away from us and that sucks. I have an email into Co-Rec about the game and will keep you informed as to what I find out. I guess we bring this out in other teams, or we just play against some douche bags ( I think they are douche bags). At any rate, please continue to keep the game fun and what it is A GAME. That is the reason I really enjoy playing with all of you.
GO SOUNDERS!

Cougar Hunting!?
Couple of things...
First great game last night, after about 20 shots over the bar we finally got one in thanks to a great header by Bruce. They really never sniffed the goal except when I decided to make it interesting and had to run my ass off to get the one I let bounce by me. Great game by the defense and the offense kept the pressure on them. We are now 3 - 1 - 3 (W-D-L) after starting the season with 3 straight losses.
Second, the showing at the pub was a little lame but at least we had a full table. I'll let you know what I hear about the funding possiblities once I hear back. To carry on with the conversation from last night, Will I found a great website for you - http://cougarlife.com/. Also, MLS apparently doesn't weight away goals, from the Sounders website -
Third, several of you still have to pay for the winter season, please bring your money/check to the next game.
Finally, we now have had two injuries in the last two games. Mike Little broke his foot last night (or he finished breaking the fracture). And super sub Steve ruptured his patella tendon the previous week. He had surgery last week and is on the road to recovery. Our thoughts are with them and we hope to see them back on the pitch soon (but only once fully recovered).
That's all for now, see you next weekend.

Conference Semifinal series are conducted in a home-and-home, aggregate-goal format. The lower seeded team hosts the first game. The team that scores the most goals in the home-and-home series advances to the single-elimination Conference Championship. If the teams are tied after 180 minutes in the Conference Semifinal series, a 30-minute extra time period (divided into two 15-minute periods) will be played, followed by kicks from the penalty spot, if necessary. Also here is a recap of the Sounders win

It's been a while
Finally a new post for all you Naked City Soccer fans (OK most of you are team members but one can dream we have fans). Well, I missed the first game of the season which was a 3 - 1 loss. The second game was also a loss of 3 - 2 but only cause of a last minute goal. We played hard that game and deserved a better result. Maybe if some folks could have their priorities straight on game day, since when does house work and wisdom teeth work as excuses not to play?
It seems we have a bit of the injury bug on the team as well. Greg is out with a broken toe for a few weeks, Mara-Lisa has a broken nose and is on rest by doctors orders, Liam has some broken down ankles, Mike G is just getting normal color back in his toe, Mike Little has a foot issue, Kari has the flu and it maybe of the swine kind, Kate Hasz is out for a while with an ACL injury, and several others have nagging injuries as well. That means we need folks to respond as soon as they can with their status for the weeks game so we can be sure we field a full team.
This weeks game is against the Super Hero Rejects...not sure what that name is about be we need to be victorious this weekend. To start the winning ways I am planning to bring the Orange tradition back, so Orange slices for half time. As usual pints will be consumed post match at the Naked City, attendance is mandatory.
Last note, Sounders have a game on Sat against the New England Revolution. A win almost guarantees a playoff spot so lets go boys!!
I leave you with this crazy goal, we have nothing to complain about with our refs...

Last game of the Summer 09 season
OK, it summer season is nearing an end. We are right in the middle of the pack this year with a 4-2-3 (W-T-L) record for a total of 10 points. We currently own the tier breaker for 3rd with our 3 goal differential. The teams above us play the last place team and the 4th place teams. Win and we at least stay in 3rd or maybe move up to 2nd, lose we could drop to 4th. The team we are playing, Blue Fish are the 5th place team.
Looks like the ladies are all off this week, 5 full time women can't make it, all the subs I know to call couldn't make it. Super star Karen is going to make a special guest appearance to help us out. We are still waiting on a few folks to see if they can make it (where is Sarah these days?). Right now we sit at 3 females (we have enough as of Sunday AM due to some last minute recruiting). It could be a long game. The call for all folks to try again to find females goes out.
Can anyone bring the Oranges this week? As usual, pints at Naked City post game.
BTW - for those of you not there last week we battled back from a 3-1 halftime deficit to tie the game. Many opportunities were created for a potential winning goal but none reached the back netting.
See you on the pitch
